Types of Data Surface's AI Can Analyze
HRIS Data
Surface can capture this data through an HRIS integration or CSV upload. It provides visibility into representation across the organization, as well as recent hiring and attrition trends.
Maturity Data
Collected directly within the platform through Surface's Talent Practices Inventory, this data helps Surface understand your organization’s existing policies and practices and how your maturity compares to relevant benchmarks.
Engagement or Inclusion Survey Data (CSV upload)
This dataset allows Surface to incorporate employee sentiment into our insights and recommendations, identifying meaningful connections between data sources (e.g., employees who question their sense of belonging are leaving at higher rates).
Performance Data (CSV upload)
Surface can analyze performance ratings and promotion outcomes through a CSV upload. This will allow Surface to answer questions like, are there areas of the business where performance outcomes are higher than others? How does performance correlate with retention?
Surface never looks at PII and only looks at aggregate hiring/attrition/performance data to review for trends
Other Aggregated Quantitative Data (PDF)
You can also upload additional quantitative datasets (e.g., hiring trends) as long as they are provided in aggregate form - for example, candidate pass-through (PT) rates by business line or demographic group.
Other Qualitative Data (PDF)
You can incorporate a wide range of qualitative inputs as well, such as focus group insights or interview notes. To protect privacy, ensure that insights are shared in aggregate and scrubbed of any personally identifying information.
Broader Organizational Context
You can upload materials that provide additional organizational context to deepen Surface's analysis and tailor recommendations. Examples include your employee handbook, company values, strategic frameworks, and other relevant documents.
