Creating Assignments with Updated Content in Reach
We are launching new versions of all of our courses in 2025! This article walks through how to create assignments with the new content.
We are excited for you and your learners to experience our latest course versions! You can find a detailed view at the most recent content updates here.
(1) When you are ready to launch, login to Reach and navigate to assignments. Click the "Create New Assignment" button.

You'll be asked to name your assignment and provide a description that learners will see. You'll also select a category for your assignment. We recommend choosing a name that differentiates your new assignment from any former ones that may be similar. Click the Save button.
(2) Your assignment will appear on the Assignments page and display three next steps: "1. Manage Content, 2. Notifications (optional), and 3. Assign Groups."

When you click "Manage Content" and make your content selections you'll want to choose from our updated courses, which have a "2025 Update" subscript.

Configure notifications as desired.
Finally, assign your groups. If you have an existing assignment with similar content you may wish to first navigate to that existing assignment, click "Assign Groups" and uncheck any groups attached to that existing assignment. This way learners will only see the new assignment when they log in.

When you are ready, you can add a group of learners to your new assignment. Note that because the 2025 course versions are entirely new courses, the retake content settings at the bottom of the Assign Groups page (pictured below) will not have an impact and all learners assigned will be invited to take the content. As a result you may wish to launch the new content at the beginning of a new cycle, and/or let all learners know that a new version is available and that they are invited to explore it even if they have been acquainted with the content previously.

If you'd like to exclude learners who have taken a former assignment from receiving a new one with similar content, you can go to analytics, click on the course in your prior assignment, and filter by the group that is/ was assigned to it to determine who has and hasn't taken the content. You can add those who haven't taken the content to a static group and assign that group to the new assignment.
