Reach Workplace Violence Prevention Training Compliance Notice
The Workplace Violence Training course must be supplemented with an employer led training that addresses the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan specific to the employer’s workplace and provides an opportunity for interactive questions about the plan. This training program alone does not otherwise satisfy the requirements under California Labor Code Section 6401.9.
The employer-led training program should cover:
- The employer’s plan, how to obtain a copy of the employer's plan at no cost, and how to participate in development and implementation of the employer’s plan;

How to report workplace violence incidents or concerns to the employer or law enforcement without fear of reprisal;
Workplace violence hazards specific to the employees’ jobs, the corrective measures the employer has implemented, how to seek assistance to prevent or respond to violence, and strategies to avoid physical harm;
How to obtain, at no cost, copies of the following records, which employers are required to maintain under Section 6401.9:
- Records of workplace violence hazard identification, evaluation, and correction;
- Records of the trainings ; and

Violent incident logs.
Employers must consult California Labor Code Section 6401.9 for full details. Trainings should be readministered when new hazards are identified, or changes are made to the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan.
